"PALMER, Rose--It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and sister Rose who passed away on Friday, October 19, 2001 following open heart surgery at the Regina General Hospital. Rose was born in Lipton, SK on June 4, 1926 - 6th daughter of C.P.R., Section Foreman, Anthony and Rose Fox. Rose loved helping people any way she could, she especially loved children. She was employed by Sears Canada Inc. for many years. Rose took an early retirement to nurse her husband who was in poor health until his death. She has been a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church since 1961 and a member of the Altar Guild to ten years. Rose lived in Regina for over 70 years. Rose was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband of 421/2 years Gerald (Bud) Palmer in August 1990; 5 sisters and 4 brothers: Cecilia - Tillie (Emil - John) Flaman, Mary (John) Lay, Emily (Joe) Eisworth, Evelyn (Frank) Schmidt, Anne (Ivan) McKay, Tony (Elsie) Fox, John (Eva) Fox, Peter Fox and George Fox as well as sister-in-law Iris Fox; brothers-in-law Alfred Hague and Ken Palmer, and other extended family members. Rose is survived by her son Dale (Lorraine) and granddaughter Kelly Palmer. She also leaves to mourn her sister Jo Hague; brother Paul Fox; sisters-in-law Margaret Fox and Donna Palmer as well as many nieces, nephews and very good friends. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2161 Winnipeg St., Regina, SK. with Rev. Blair A. Dixon, officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park along side her husband. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. in the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Regina & District Branch, 4420 Albert St., Regina, SK. S4S 6B4."
