Physically big and robust and merely a middle-aged man, Walter was a Scotch man of the very best type, and as we saw him quite recently one would have taken a lease of his life, as it were. But somehow "in the midst of life we are truly in death,' and he collapsed very suddenly as the result of a seizure. A carpenter by trade, he developed into a very, capable builder, and it was he who successfully carried out, under the architects' supervision, the erection of both Brisbane and Sydney "Worker" printeries.
