"Donald Osborn Glendenning, service director of Bay Village, died suddenly last night in his home, 603 Bassett Road, Bay Village, following a heart attack. He had been service director for the last three years. Formerly, for nearly two years, he had been in the village engineer's office. For 15 years previously he was in the traffic office in Cleveland of a Trucking Co. Mr. Glendenning was born 52 years ago in Elyria, O. He was the son of Amos and Luella Osborn Glendenning. His mother was a member of a Bay Village family dating back to the second decade of the 1800s. His family later moved to Bay Village. Mr. Glendenning attended West High School in Cleveland. Surviving him, besides his wife,are a son, Donald W., and a brother, A. Robert Glendenning of Westlake.Services will be at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday in the Pease funeral home, 2914Dover Center Road, Westlake. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,Westlake."

"Ansel Lewis Glendenning, the son of Vincent Lewis Glendenning and Virginia Helen Herman, was born in South Hampton, NY. He spent his childhood in LaGrange Park, IL. He was a 1951 graduate of Hinsdale High School, Hinsdale, IL and served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956 as a Cryptographer. Glendenning received a Bachelors in History in 1960 and a Masters of Education in 1965 from Appalachian State Teachers College. He was a football standout and a basketball letterman for the Mountaineers and was honored as a Little All American running back in 1960. He was inducted into the Appalachian Sports Hall of Fame in 1982. He began his teaching and coaching career at St. Paul's High School, St. Paul's, NC. From there Glendenning taught and coached at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, NC from 1963-1970. In 1970, he moved his family to Cary, NC where he taught and coached at Enloe High School and Ravenscroft School. He finished his career at Apex High School, where he retired in 1994.

Ansel is survived by his wife; daughters; son; grandchildren; brother; and sister."
