Gabrielle Solange MacQuarrie, passed away at West End Villa on February 2, 2014 at the age of 95. Survivors are: her daughters, Lynne Kaiser (the late Richard), Angela MacQuarrie (the late Noël), and Ravena Formenti (Marino): her grandchildren, Charlotte, Joseph, Henry and Martha Kaiser; Patrick and James Riley; Marco and Julia Formenti; her five great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews of the Marcelle and Frank Dubroy family. She had an exemplary career in the Public Service as a gifted editor of French manuscripts including working for and with the Canadian ethnographer, Marius Barbeau. She had an arresting personality and faced the increasing burden of senility in her last years with grace. Many thanks go to West End Villa's staff for her excellent care and to the all the nurses and staff of the Day Care Blood Clinic at the Civic campus for the tender care given to her. "MACQUARRIE, LLOYD GIRVAN L. Girvan MacQuarrie of Harvey Station passed away December 29, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Girvan was born in Saint John in 1924, a son of the late Daniel and Lillian (Girvan) MacQuarrie. He graduated from UNB in 1948 and began work with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. He later was employed with the federal government until his retirement in 1978. Girvan is survived by his wife, Betty I. (McGee) MacQuarrie; a daughter, Marta MacQuarrie, Fredericton; a son, David MacQuarrie, Oakville, Ontario; two granddaughters, Morgan MacQuarrie, England and Sarah MacQuarrie, Ontario; a sister, Joyce McDowell, Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stuart MacQuarrie. Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. "EAST PEORIA, IL - Ada M. Nichol, 91, formerly of 111 Arnold Ave. died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL, where she was a resident for 2 1/2 years.

Born Jan. 14, 1911, in Detroit, Ill., to Alvin and Mary Ellen Shafer Neff, she married Benjamin ''Frank'' Nichol on July 20, 1929, in Pittsfield. He died Nov. 3, 1964, in East Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one son, Charles (and Joyce) of Morton; one daughter, Barbara (and Ed) Moore of Brimfield; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a key punch supervisor at Block and Kuhl for 29 years, retiring in 1975.

She was a charter member of American Business Women's Association and was a member of East Peoria Women's Club since 1975.

She had worked on the Folepi Holiday Sensations for the Festival of Lights for nine years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria for 51 years and its Naomi-Rachel Fellowship.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Vaughn Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery . Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or the Apostolic Christian Restmor Building Fund."
