2Newspaper Obituary, Lake Wakatip Mail 31 May 1932.
"The death took place at Cardrona on Monday night of Mr Walter Little, senr., the oldest resident of that district. Mr Little, who was 89 years of age, arrived in Cardrona in 1870, and for some years he engaged in the mining industry. He was also sheep-farming for a considerable time. Selling his property some 4 or 5 years ago to his son James, he had since lived in retirement. Mr Little was a live member of the community while health and strength were his and he took part in all public affairs in Cardrona. He leaves a family of three sons, Walter, James, and Robert, who are all residing in Cardrona; and two daughters, Mrs Mason (Brydone), and Mrs J. Thomsen (Lawrence). Mrs Little died some years ago. The funeral takes place to-morrow, interment being made at Pembroke."

3Newspaper Obituary, Cromwell Argus 6 Jun 1932.
"The death of Mr Walter Little, Cardrona, which was announced in our last issue marked the passing of one of the oldest and most respected residents of that district, one whom by his sterling qualities and straightforward character was held in high esteem by all. He had reached the advanced age of 87 years. He arrived in Cardrona in the late sixties, and in his early association with the district carted wool and other produce from the district to the seaport. Later he engaged in the mining industry, but afterwards turned his attention to sheep-farming. With advancing years he disposed of his property to his son and finally led a retired life. In the public life of Cardrona the late Mr Little always took a leading part, and gave his assistance and support in the memorable effort for the subdivision of the large estates. The deceased is survived by three sons, Walter, James, and Robert, all residents of Cardrona, and two daughters, Mrs Mason (Brydone), and Mrs J. Thomson (Lawrence). His wife died some years ago. A large gathering of friends paid their tribute of respect at the funeral which took plate in the Pembroke Cemetery on Wednesday."
