Elizabeth Hardie their daughter who died at Hermitage Bridge End 28th Jany 1857 aged 8 years. Jane E. Cowan their granddaughter died at Brox 30th March 1868 aged 16 months. Helen their daughter who died at Newcastleton 30th October 1908 aged 63 years. James Hardie who died at 13 North Hermitage Street 6th June 1937 aged 62 years. Their daughter Mary Jane Hardie who died at Carlisle, March 1994 aged 79 years."

Margaret Elliot their daughter died 24th May 1839 aged 10 months and Jane Elliot their granddaughter died 8th Feby 1866 aged 10 months. Marion Elliot their daughter died Octr 1st 1899 aged 89 years. John Elliot their son died May 14th 1905 aged 69 years and Jane Jackson his wife died at Newcastleton Septr 7th 1912 aged 72 years.
