"Pte R.E. Stobo, who was reported killed in action in a casualty list issued June 29, enlisted at Nelson with the second contingent and had served on the firing line for a period of nearly 15 months at the time of his death. He was well known in the city and district, having worked at his trade as engineer in a number of manufacturing and other shops. Before enlisting for acting service he operated a ranch at Rock Island on the Arrow Lakes. He has one brother, Robert Stobo, whose home is at Okanagan landing

"HERBERT CAPEWELL HONOURED IN DEATH:
PROMINENT BUSINESSMEN ATTEND FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON - Former associates of the days when he took a prominent part in affairs of the city and a representative gathering of businessmen attended the funeral this afternoon of the late Herbert Capewell, head of the Beverley Oil Co. Ltd., who died on Saturday last in Calgary, Alberta.
The body arrived in Toronto at 7:20 a.m. yesterday, and rested at the Miles Funeral Parlours, St. Clair Avenue West, until 3:30 this afternoon, when the service was held. Reverend Canon H. F. D. Woodcock, Rector of Christ Church, Anglican Church, of which the late Mr. Capewell was a member, officiated, both at the Chapel and at the graveside in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, where interment was made.
Active bearers were H. H. Ball, Samuel Thompson, J.P., Dr. W. Russell Marshall, H. P. Bertram, and two representatives of the Buffalo Business Men's Association. Floral tributes were received from all parts of the country.
Among those who attended, were ex-mayor, Sam McBride, ex-controller, Albert Hacker, Alfred Maguire, John A. Lowden, and, A. M. Orpen. Chief mourners were the widow, and a nephew, L. W. J. Brown."
