Well-known Celina man passes away suddenly Tuesday afternoon; Native of Scotland
James A Glendinning, 74 years old, who for a quarter of a century had lived in and around Celina, in Northwest Collin, passed away suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He was attending the funeral services of the late Al Reynolds at the Cottage Hill Church, and just as he was leaving the church, suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to Celina but passed away before reaching there.
Mr Glendinning was born in Scotland, June 7, 1869, the son of James and Mary Glendinning. He came to Texas fifty-one years ago, and as mentioned above had lived in the county for twenty-five years. He was married to Miss Bessie Mathews in 1891. She preceded him in passing in 1941. One son also preceded him in passing
Mr Glendinning was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Prosper being active and faithful in same. He was also a prominent Mason, and took part in the civic and religious affairs of his home community. He had engaged in farming practically all of his life, and in recent years had made his home with a son at Little Elm.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Prosper Presbyterian Church conducted by the Paster, Rev J. L. Cleveland, and Rev W. J. Eping, Baptist minister of Celina. Burial was in the Little Elm Cemetery under the direction of the Helms Funeral Home of Celina.
Active pallbearers were G. C. Sheets, Charles Allen, Lawrence Gilmer, J. M. Bramwell, T. N. Odell and Gid Nichols.
Mr Glendinning is survived by one daughter, Mrs L. D. Hall, and seven sons as follows: James, Archie, William, Robert, David, Andrew and Aldred Glendinning. Eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive."

He was ordained in 1910 to Methven, Perthshire, and after a ministry of 21 years there he went to Garnethill, Glasgow. He was 70 years of age."
