"FREDERICK GEORGE YEAMANS PASSES - Mr. Fred Yeamans of Stouffville, passed away during a visit to his daughter at Souris, Manitoba, on June 26, 1963, in his 82nd year. Mr. Yeamans was well-known in Stouffville for his activities in lawn bowling. Before retiring in 1954, he farmed at Agincourt on land cleared by his family in pioneer times. A keen plowman, he won a number of trophies at matches, as well as being, for many years, a Director of the East York Plowmen's Association. In addition, he was one of the official fence viewers for Scarborough Township. For many years, Mr. Yeamans was an active member and officer of Knox United Church, Agincourt.
Funeral Services were held at the Ogden Funeral Home, Agincourt, on June 29, conducted by Reverend G.A. Beatty and Reverend J.W.A. Stinson, and interment was in Knox United Church Cemetery, Agincourt. Mr. Yeamans is survived by his son Bruce of Agincourt, and, three daughters: Ruth (Mrs. Hugh Jackson) of Souris, Manitoba; Ina (Mrs. Melvin Curtis) of North Bay; and, Grace (Mrs. Gordon MacMillan) of Montreal. Two sisters, Miss Emily Yeamans of Stouffville and Mrs. Jacob Reesor of Agincourt, also survive him. He was the son of the late David Yeamans and Joan Bertram of Agincourt. His wife, the former Lucy Elliot, predeceased him in February of this year."2Gravestone Transcript, Knox 64.
