"Mildred Estelle Lay - The death of Mildred Estelle Lay age 79 years of Goodsoil, born in 1898 in Dauphin, Man. Occured in Meadow Lake Union Hospital on May 29, 1978.
The funeral service was held on Wed., May 31, 1978 from Goodsoil Community Hall, Goodsoil, Sask. conducted by Mr. Glen King of Lloydminster, Sask. Thomas Funeral Home, Meadow Lake, Sask. was in charge.
She was predeceased by her husband Lewis Roy April 8, 1961, and two sons, Jack on June 2, 1948 and Bill on April 24, 1976.
Surviving are 2 sons Robert and Roy, 5 daughters, Stella, Kelowna, Ruby, Goodsoil, Vera, Ontario, Betty, Vancouver, Ethel, Cut Knife and 35 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Interment was in Golden Ridge Cemetery, Golden Ridge, Sask."

"Monroe Lewis Lay - Mr. Monroe Lewis Lay passed away on April 8th at Loon Lake. Mr. Lay was born at Lenapha, Okla., in 1897. His parents moved to Saskatchewan in 1902, settling near Yorkton. They moved to Golden Ridge in 1934.
Predeceased by one son, Jack, in 1948, he leaves to mourn his death, his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Jack Echstein (Stella), Edson, Alta.; Mrs. John Lay (Ruby), Golden Ridge, Sask.; Mrs. Frank Perkull (Vera), Quesnel, B.C.; Mrs. Rob't. McLaughlan (Betty), Meadow Lake, Sask.; Mrs. Lloyd Baumgardner (Ethel), Golden Ridge; three sons, Robert, of Hinton, Alta., and Roy and William, both of Golden Ridge. Surviving, also, are two sisters, Mrs. Allan Tupper (Emmaline) and Mrs. Willard Wright (Sylvia) both of Golden Ridge; seven brothers, Oscar, Albert, Lloyd and Wallace of Golden Ridge; Claude and Jasper of Edmonton; Andrew of White Rock, B.C.; two uncles, James Lay of Golden Ridge and Frank Lay of Florida; and thirty grandchildren.
Mr. Lay was an active minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 24 years. Well-known throughout the entire district, Mr. Lay will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends."
