"Dr. W. L. Chamberlain Dies In Fort Fairfield After Short Illness
Was Born At Collina, N. B.; Former Member Of House Of Representatives
FORT FAIRFIELD, Me., May 31 -(Special) - Dr. William Gilbert Chamberlain, 72, for the past eight years postmaster at Fort Fairfield, died at Community Hospital here late Saturday afternoon after a short illness. Dr. Chamberlain was born in Collina, N. B., and had been a practicing physician in Fort Fairfield for 40 years, until his retirement in 1934 when he was appointed postmaster.
His wife, the former Miss Maude Glendenning, of Harvey, N. B., died in 1931. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. M. Phillip Roberts and Miss Dolly Chamberlain, both of Fort Fairfield, and Mrs. Alton Harmon, Los Angeles, Calif., and two sons, Judson, West Medford, Mass., and Glen Chamberlain of Presque Isle.
Dr. Chamberlain was a former member of the House of Representatives in Augusta; former president of the Rotary Club, local board of health and a past district deputy of the Masonic Lodge, Aroostook County.
Masonic funeral services will be held at his residence Monday after- noon with Rev. A. W. Solandt offciating."

He was born in Fort Fairfield, June 28, 1904, the son of William G, and Maude (Glendenning) Chamberlain.
Chamberlain attended Fort Fairfield schools and graduated from Bowdoin College. He was a retire school teacher.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs Ethel Roberts, of Fort Fairfield; Mars Edna Nelson and Mrs Dolly Manes, both of San Gabriel, Calif...."
