"Mrs Eaton Was Former Orillian
Mrs. Margaret Janet Eaton, of Belleville, died suddenly in Belleville General Hospital recently. She was 64.
Born in Raymond, Muskoka she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Edwards and had lived in Woodstock before coming to Belleville 16 years ago. Mrs. Edwards (sic Eaton) also lived in Orillia for several years where her husband, Sheldon, was employed by the Canadian National Express.
She was a member of the Bridge Street United Church, Belleville, and also a member of the United Church Women and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Belleville Kiwanis Club.
She is survived by her husband, N. Sheldon Eaton; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Cheryl) MacDonnell; a son, Jack of Smith's Falls; and a granddaughter, Virginia Louise.
There are five sisters: Mrs. Bertram Parsons, of Burk's Falls; Mrs. N.W. Eaton, of Yarmouth, N.S.; Mrs. L.A. Taylor, Belleville; Mrs. J.H. Litster, Englehart; and Mrs. Stanley Wurm, Magnetawan. There are two brothers: Sydney Edwards, Willowdale; and William A. Edwards, of Burk's Falls. There is also a great aunt Miss. Robina Thomson.
Mrs. Eaton was buried in Belleville Cemetery."

"GLENDINNING On Thursday, Feb. 15th, James Glendinning passed away at his home in Strasbourg at the age of 73 years Funeral service will be held in the United church, Strasbourg, on Saturday at 3 p.m. Rev. F. Morgan officiating. Funeral arrangements in care of H. S. Neeley. Govan. Besides his wife Mr. Glendinning leaves one daughter and six sons Burial will be in Crescent Road cemetery, Strasbourg."

"Pioneer Strasbourg district farmer dies
STRASBOURG, Sask., Feb. 23 (Special): James Glendinning, 73, resident of the Strasbourg district for more than 40 years, died here and was buried in Crescent Road cemetery following services in the United church by Rev. F. H. Morgan.
In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Glendinning came to the Lumsden district and two years later settled in the Strasbourg district, where they farmed until 1940. Surviving are the wife, one daughter and six sons, Edythe of Edmonton, Caswell and Woodrow of Strasbourg, Harold, Winnipeg; Alton, Moose Jaw; Robert, St. Stephen, N.B., and Lorne, Regina. Four sisters and one brother also survive."

"GLENDINNING, JAMES ALTON (GLEN)-- On October 24, 2000, J.A. (Glen) Glendinning, left us to be reunited with his loving wife of 52 years, Alice. A caring and gracious man, Glen was born on August 29, 1906 in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his wife and friend, Alice, mother Fanny, father James, brothers Bob, Harold and Caswell, he leaves to remember his life, his son Peter (Janis), grandchildren Jamie and Megan, a beloved sister Edythe Brown of Vancouver, brothers Woodrow of Strasbourg, Lorne (Veryl) of Regina and several nieces and nephews. A lifelong employee of the Royal Bank, Glen joined the bank in Strasbourg and worked at Gull Lake, Kenaston, Balcarres, Melville and Moose Jaw and as manager at Plenty, Gull Lake and Rosetown. In each community he and Alice contributed through their work with the United Church of Canada. Glen and Alice retired to Saskatoon in 1966 and had many full years in retirement, spending winters in California. A sensitive man, he made worrying an avocation and felt that this contributed to his longevity. He was loved by family and friends but especially cherished for his love, affection and devotion to Alice. Without her by his side he was not complete. Funeral Services will be held in Saskatoon on Saturday, October 28th, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin's United Church, 2617 Clarence Avenue South, Saskatoon with Reverend Brian N. Walton officiating. Interment to be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens."

He leaves to mourn two daughters Marie and Shirley, one son John (Betty), three grandchildren Monique, Teresa and Scott (Lois-Anne), one sister Edythe Brown, one brother Lorne (Veryl), numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 7, 2001 at 2 PM from Strasbourg United Church. Rev. Marjorie Kent officiating. Interment Crescent Road Cemetery. Hansen's Funeral Home, Strasbourg in care of arrangements. STRASBOURG. Dec. 9. A pretty wedding took place Nov. 26, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Whittle, when the latter's sister, Dorothy Lillian MacKenzie daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. MacKenzie became the bride of Woodrow Glendinning, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Glendinning. The bride wore a tailored dress of buttercup slik pique and carried a bouquet of pale yellow chrysanthemums. She entered tho living room with her father. The ceremony was performed under an arch of bells and streamers by Rev. H. H. Kerley. The bride's mother was dressed in a delft blue crepe, while the groom's mother wore a black and white crepe costume. The wedding luncheon was served to 30 guests. The bride's table centred by a tiered wedding cake, the top layer being made 38 years ago for the wedding of the groom's parents. The bridal couple left amid a shower of confetti for a short trip to Winnipeg and on their return will reside west of town. For travelling the bride wore a costume of Langley Sudan, with brown accessories. The groom's uncle, A. H. Glendinning, Pembina, N.D., was one of the guests."

"GLENDINNING _ Lorne W. passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 8, 2008, the day before his 82nd birthday, at the Regina General Hospital, with his family by his side. Lorne is survived by his wife Veryl. He has a special place in the heart of his niece Frankie Jordan (Ray Finlay) and children Rick, Rob, Ryan, Krista and Scott. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including John (Betty) and Marie Glendinning, Shirley Smith; Glen, Jim, Betty Ann and Patricia Brown; Velma Gustafson and Derwood Geib and Marge, James, Davey, Lorne Wishart. As well, he will be remembered by Veryl's children Jade Tribe and Gene Uhl, their six children and their three children. Lorne was predeceased by his first wife Frances (Wishart) Glendinning in 1991, his parents, his five brothers, one sister, and one nephew. Lorne was born in the Strasbourg district and took his schooling in Strasbourg. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He first worked for PFRA and then found his niche in the provincial Department of Agriculture for 35 years. He loved all his positions with government, especially the work that took him out of the office and into the field. In his leisure time Lorne loved to travel, golf and curl and found a great void in his life when poor health did not allow him to participate in these pastimes. He was an avid reader well known for finishing a book in a day. Lorne actively followed the stock market, making many shrewd investments. He loved his times with family and friends. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at Broadway Terrace, 1150 Broadway Avenue on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lois Munholland officiating. Flowers gratefully declined.
