"Death of Joan MURRAY, widow of William RITCHIE. She was a native of Dumfriesshire and a servant girl in Annan in 1832. She was married in 1833 to William RITCHIE of Greystones on the Wyseby Estate. The pair roughed it in the usual way out west but by 1865 had acquired a farm when her husband died. Mrs. RITCHIE's surviving descendants number 115, including 4 daughters, 3 sons, 72 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, making 5 generations in all, six grandsons bore the coffin."
